BAYFIELD SKATE CAMP

Last week I rounded up a group of my friends and headed for Bayfield, Wi. We worked with Element Skateboards to bring skateboarding to the small town on the shores of Lake Superior. After stopping for breakfast at the local diner "The Fat Radish" we hit the local park to put on a demo for the kids of Bayfield, Madeline Island, and the Red Cliff Reservation. After sessioning the park we partnered up with the kids and taught them how to skate. Many of the kids had never stepped foot on a board, and by the time the day was done they we're ripping around like they had been doing it for months. Carter even taught a kid how to ollie! Later we gifted the kids some awesome Element gear and presented the community center with three brand new Element skateboards. I'm very thankful that we could spark a new generation's interest in skating and plant the seeds today to ensure Bayfield is deeply rooted in skateboarding from here on.

Mini Ramp and Rage 2018

Back for the 14th time, Mini Ramp and Rage is going down Saturday, July 28th at the infamous Midtowne mini ramp. Show up at 1:00 for some radical ramp action under the overpass. In addition to the contest, Vans is sponsoring a park cleanup and will be giving away water bottles and hats to all who help out. See you there!

Cloquet Skatepark Groundbreaking

On Tuesday, July 10th, the Cloquet skatepark broke ground. This monumental day was 10 years in the making and to say we're hyped is an understatement. High fives to Matt Anderson and all of the local skaters and parents for backing this over the years. All of their hard work paid off! Construction is slated to last 6-8 weeks. Stay tuned for a grand opening event in the coming months.

Lord of the Ropes edit

Last February, The Interior Plain Project invited skilled snowboarders from around the Midwest to Trollhaugen for a night of head-to-head battles in skill, style, and consistency. In the end, Kyle Kennedy was crowned Lord of the Ropes, walking away with $2,000. Stay tuned this winter for year two of LOTR coming Friday, February 22 2019.
